CANNONBALL FAQs

How many people can play Cannonball?
Cannonball is designed for 2–8 players and works best in teams. It’s perfect for small groups or larger gatherings where everyone wants to be involved.

How long does a game take?
Most games last about 15 minutes, making Cannonball easy to replay multiple times in one session.

What kind of pool do I need?
Cannonball works with most kiddie pools or small backyard pools between 3–5 feet in diameter. You’ll want about 6 inches of water—no deep pool required.

Can Cannonball be played without a pool?
Cannonball is designed specifically for water play. The floating rings, treasure chest, and ball movement rely on water to create the game’s strategy and excitement.

Is Cannonball easy to learn?
Yes. Most players understand the basics after one round. The rules are simple, but the strategy keeps the game interesting every time you play.

What ages is Cannonball for?
Cannonball is recommended for ages 6 and up. Younger players may enjoy the game with adult supervision, while older players often lean into the competitive strategy. This is also due to some small game pieces.

What’s the difference between the balls?

Each ball has a purpose:
• Scorers earn points by landing in rings
• Cannonballs knock rings and balls around
• Gold Pieces are high-risk throws that can score 10 points instantly
Choosing the right ball at the right time is the heart of the game.

How does scoring work?
• Scorers in rings score points at the end of each round
• Bonus points are awarded when multiple Scorers from one team land in the same ring
• Gold Pieces score immediately when they land in the Treasure Chest
• First team to 11 points at the end of the round wins

What if something gets knocked out of the pool?
Finish the round first. After scoring, reset the rings and the Treasure Chest to the Starting Configuration.
